Social media giant Instagram will be paying bonuses of up to $10,000 to users who post videos on Reels, the short video platform owned by meta, as a medium to attract content creators.

As part of the Reels Play bonus program, Instagram stated that creators based in the US will now have the chance to earn $10,000 but the opportunity will be available in other regions in due time.

TikTok surpassed the 1 billion monthly active users mark and competitor platforms like YouTube Shorts, Snapchat Spotlight, and Instagram Reels are encouraging users to post their short-form content on their apps instead.

YouTube created a $100 million creator fund for Shorts, Snapchat is offering cash prizes for submissions to Spotlight challenges and, now, Instagram is upping the fee on its monthly Reels Play bonus program.
